Véronique Rischard

Veronique Rischard only draws trees in India ink on white backgrounds. The trees stretch their branches in graceful convolutions. They have the flexibility of the choreographic aesthetic of dancers deploying their arms in aerial movements.

The compositions are the artist?s strength, showing their balance in the ramifications and the twisting of the trunks. Like a breath of the air, the white flows between the leaves. In a romantic inspiration, the soul of the spectator disappears in this silent nature. In her diptychs or triptychs, the stag, the abusive vegetation grows infinitely, invading the canvases.

After getting her Diploma in Fine Art in Strasbourg, Veronique Rischard is attracted by the world of opera. She worked at the Paris Opera as an assistant director and she had the opportunity to work with the greatest musicians and performers of our time. She works in stage direction and, drawn by the great freedom offered by the productions for the young public, she works on several operas for children: in Luxembourg in 1995, at the Capitol in Toulouse, the Nancy Opera or the Metz Opera.
