Axelle Safran

Axelle Safran was born on June 26, 1972 at Garenne Colombes, in the Hauts de Seine. Axelle is a surprising young woman by her temperament, by her background, by the direction she gives to her life. This artist cultivates her know-how today through sculpture, but works on different supports: drawing, music, the garden, any form that allows her an expression of her inner poetry. In this period, the horse is the subject which allows him to best express his talent, oh so promising and striking when we focus on his history; first engaged in 10 years of medical studies which she will complete but without ever practicing, she decides to make art her profession. She will almost unwittingly choose the horse as the main theme and composes her first works with a delicacy of touch, an incredible sense of balance, an anatomical accuracy, but above all a disconcerting richness in her creative choices and the attitudes she gives to his horses. The judiciously associated natural stone plinth is an integral and essential part of the work. Everything is sensation by the hand and the cerebral at the same time since she works without a model. Axelle does not seek perfection in the reproduction of reality, but perfect fidelity to her imagination.
