Presentation
Born in 1963, Pierre Soufflet lives and works in Amiens (France). A first art collector for twenty years, he built in his beginnings “Les Tribus Improbables”, imaginary ethnic groups made of metal, bubble wrap, plaster bands, wood and glue. His "tribes" were not copies of ancient masks or statues from Oceania and Africa but rather a representation of beings without roots and without a past.
Since 2016, he has been working mainly on series of drawings on paper which has earned him permanent collaborations with galleries in China, the USA and Taiwan. His current work is strongly influenced by the works of Basquiat and Antonio Saura.
