Malagarty

Malagarty was born in 1966 from Charente and lives in the south of France.

Curious about the world around her since childhood and questions that arise to the artist: everything becomes a source of inspiration. The very young interest for drawing, literature, comics and music with this thirst for knowledge has become the breeding ground of his paintings today.

It was in 1987 that Malagarty became acquainted with Parisian street art during her installation in Paris. She appreciates the poetic or daring messages, the stencils and the colorful frescoes that spread on the walls. She draws her inspiration from the dynamics of the city, the pop art classics, her daily life, the actuality and the random encounters.

At the end of 2015, settling in the south of France, she chose to give a new meaning to her creation, she develops her technique, her work evolves and enriched combining techniques and supports. Acrylic is its instantaneous. His art is spread on different media, ephemeral or noble, cardboard or canvas, plastic or wood. On these frames, it breaks down, a stencil to keep an aesthetic between the drawing and the photo, the felt or the newspaper to animate the subject with relief. She plays with materials to create her universe with her codes.

The choice of the stencil portrait is a representation of his look at human complexity, its particularity, its fragility.
