Presentation

Sylvie Koechlin was born in Dijon in 1956; she has taken drawing courses at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Dijon. In 1973 she joined the drawing courses of the Académies Charpentier and of the Grande Chaumière in Montparnasse.

She learned the basics of casting in the workshop of Manfredi Quartana and then she learned carving in the Coutelle workshop.

Sylvie Koechlin magnifies the faces, the bodies, the myths and the symbols by carving them, with great flexibility and a clear analysis of the form.
Without any useless details, her sculptures have a powerful elegance whose serenity and sensuality form a precious mix of beauty, purity and emotion.

Living in Boulogne/Mer since 2006, she has had shows in the Ile-de-France, Brittany, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Alsace, Corsica, Great Britain and Germany.

The works of Sylvie Koechlin are part of the permanent collections of many museums such as the Museum of Natural History Jules Gosselet in Lille or the Museum Marcel Sahut in Volvic.
