Presentation
Paper is at the center of Cécile Morin-Verdier's artistic approach and lies between painting and sculpture. The accumulation of layers forms a support / surface that the artist will peel, dig, pierce, sand in order to bring out the buried layers. The top becomes the bottom and vice versa. Then emerged compositions whose texture catches the light that can evoke a mineral or vegetable surface, a distant landscape or on the contrary a detail enlarged disproportionately. The artist has the will to protect what is not yet gone in order to express the formidable effect of time on our memory.
