Laurent Martinez paints since more than 25 years and had exhibitions in France, Germany & Panama. Inspired by ancient art from Lascaux to Fra Angelico and by asian arts, his works inspires meditation and is always close to a certain idea of the landscape, either internal or external.
This last series from 2015 refers to Shanshui, a traditional chinese painting landscape style named after Mountain & Water. With a personal reinterpretation of this tradition, Laurent Martinez displays rigorous compositions together with a free pictorial touch - allowing an imaginative and personal journey in these landscapes.
