Charlotte Perrot

Born in: 1978

France

Biography
Charlotte Perrot was born in 1978. She lives and works in Paris. For her works she uses brushes, knives, charcoal, Chinese ink, acrylic, supports such as canvas or plexiglass, and techniques such as collages, ripped materials, washed drawing and drippings. Charlotte Perrot mixes the techniques, the sipports and the materials to create areas of shadow and light, colors and volumes, and to capture energy and emotions. Since 2005 when she had her first exhibition, Charlotte Perrot continued to draw and paint but decided to dedicate herself entirely to her art one year ago. Her recent works investigate the representation of women in art. Inspired by a quote by Oscar Wilde, that says that "women are meant to be loved, not to be understood”, Charlotte Perrot represents women full of energy, modern, mysterious and fragile, but also free, narcissistic, enthousiastic, independent and sometimes extravagant.
