Laurent Roux

Born in 1969 - France

French artist Laurent Roux uses his works to highlight the tragic and the comic, but also to provoke the viewer.

Known for his mastery of sculpture techniques, Laurent Roux has become known especially for works such as Caramel Christ, the Man with the Butterflies, The Fall of Icarus, The Crazy Love, and his self-portrait as Mickey Mouse.

He reinterprets great classical themes from the history of art, mythology and popular icons, creating anachronisms, provoking paradoxes with sharp irony.

A self-taught artist, Laurent Roux has returned these recent years to painting and drawing.
