Patrick Delaunay

Born in France in 1959, Patrick Delaunay is a French artist who currently lives and works in Rouen. After having devoted himself to drawing for several years, he decided to study at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, from 1991 to 1997, where he began oil painting in 1995, under the guidance of the painter, François Bard.

He plays with the depth and intensity of the oil painting, Patrick Delaunay depicts his characters and images on blank canvases, working with fresh material through a lot of passion, and lays them in successive layers of paint.

His work has been exhibited in several private and group exhibitions in Paris and its regions around, such as at the International Art show in Bourges. Some of his paintings portray jazz icons from the film "Love Me" by Laetitia Masson released in in the year 2000, and others are part of several private collections in Europe, the United States and Canada. He is also the author of literature book, including Van Gogh's novel (éd. Carrère, 1988), Le Blues (texts and painting, éd. Méréal, 1998), Chiens (éd. Hors Commerce, 1998), Jouir dit-elle (éd. Hors Commerce, 2002).
