Presentation

Geneviève Delloye, or Géa Panter, was born in October 1909 in Caudry, France. She started painting in the late 40s, after her philosophy studies in Paris. She defines herself as a self-taught artist, although she studied a few months in Fernand Léger's studio in 1950.

Since 1955 her painting becomes abstract, using a lyrical, gestual language, in line with the new tendencies of the young Ecole de Paris. Her creations are colorful and she favors floral themes. Géa Panter's technique has often been compared by critics with that of painters doing Action Painting.

Géa Panter regularly exhibited in Paris at the Salon de Mai and the Salon des Artistes Independants. She achieved great success, encouraged by critics like Peter Schneider and Jean-Louis Ferrier.

She had completed numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide and her works are also part of museum collections.
