Julien Allègre's work deals with the human soul. Far from the conventional image of the body, his creations challenge our formal representations.
He uses salvaged barrels, a symbol of the heyday of the consumer society. He combines iron and bronze, ambivalent materials that show the traces of time and history, fragile and made more noble by the bronze.
For Julien Allègre the support is far from being lifeless, it is just sleeping and is fed by time. He doesn't delete the flaws of the material, for him, the rust is a symbol of the truth that should not be hidden.
