Presentation

Philippe Hautenauve was born in Paris in 1953. He has lived in various countries in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Morocco, as well as in Boston (U.S.A.), in Quebec city (Canada) and he finally established himself in Sigean in Languedoc-Roussillon (France). Painting has been his passion since childhood. Philippe Hautenauve's diverse cultural influences are mirrored in his painting, whose colour palette and composition reflect the cultures from the countries named above.

Tones and forms are cultivated by constant research and nourrished by the use of multiples watercolour acrylic techniques and others.

Philippe Hautenauve offers a perspective coming from his inside and outside situations which offers many possibilities of research and interrogation. The artist’s notes and motives and his work designate an encounter with oneself without confinement of objective research. It is therefore a versatile gait and non-sedentary of the artist for whom everyday maintenance renews the forms and colours.

The invitation to linger creates the return of emotions specific to oneself and that make us continue.
