Marion Colomer

Born in 1983 - France

Born in 1983, Marion Colomer started her studies at the Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2003 while following in parallel a license in Modern Literature at the Paris VII University.

Having lived in New Delhi for the last 6 years, Marion Colomer translates into her work the richness and the mystery of the Indian modern culture. Her work is carried out through portraits of characters she meets and who are for her the symbols of this rich culture in full evolution: a country of philosophers, poets, artists, young designers, glitteratis and old maharajas.

Then, in order to keep intact the atmosphere presented and take us in the heart of the Orient, Marion Colomer illustrates these portraits with embroidery that she produces on canvas, over the layers of paint. This technique, carried out in collaboration with Indian craftsmen, seeks with the help of forms, fabrics, and objects, to describe the universe of the characters she presents. Through abstraction, invisible auras appear around these characters, bringing us closer to the mysteries of India. This journey has led the young French artist to paint the portraits of the most famous Indian actors and producers and to become one of Bollywood's favorite artists.
