Biography
Born in 1973, Marie Le Gargasson is a French artist who lives and works in Brittany. She studied drawing and ceramic at the ENSAA, at Boule and at the School of Fine Art in Paris, and completed her apprenticeship and knowledge in Ghana with Kofi Sétorji, in the Lebanon and in Syria with Adel Aïdar, in Egypt with Michel Pastore and Evelyne Porret, in Peru with Félix Oliva and in Mali with Modibo Sékou and Salif Traoré. Her sculptures are made of textures giving the illusion to be something quite different than clay. Her animals come from the bottom of ages or dreamed Africa. Her characters arise from the mythology or from the circus world. Give life to the shades, make exist the emptiness, establish a dialogue with the whole, make fly the soil and make it move, shake the space-time, question the place of the Man on earth and forget the grotesque mass of the everyday life: few words to describe the artistic path of Marie Le Gargasson.
