Cécile et Stéphane Cuvelier

Born in 1964 - France

Cécile et Stéphane Cuvelier are originally from northern France where they live and work as ceramists and sculptors.

Stephane Cuvelier discovered ceramics in 1977 during a cooking on wood. The passion for this type of cooking never separated him, he built several ovens. he created contemporary pieces called "Architerretures" performed in raw material and porcelain as well as outdoor sculptures for ponds and gardens: miter, fountains, waterspout, totem.

In 2001, Cécile Cuvelier dedicated solely to working with soil and her first sculptures were launched in salted sandstone. Since 2008, the sculptures were made in bronze, 8 copies in additon to 4 artist's proofs. They both like to accompany their pieces in the process of manufacturing: retouching them with wax, carving and patina.
