Presentation

Evelyne Alayrac is an sculptor born in the South of France in 1943.

It is in Vallauris that she discovered and had her first experience in pottery. There, she worked the clay before starting to use ceramics.

She then moved to Madrid, where she took modeling classes. Pedro Pablo Gomez, professor at the Official School of Ceramics of Madrid, was her mentor during this time and introduced her to several different techniques in sculpture.

The artist continued her ascent by enrolling in intensive courses of manipulation and possibilities when working with ovens as well as courses with Japanese masters. She later decided to devote herself entirely to ceramics and opened her workshop in Spain. All her pieces are baked at 1600 degrees after being painted with porcelain powder.

The work of the artist was awarded with numerous prizes such as the First Prize of Ceramics from the city of Alcorcon in 1986, and her workshop was given the Award of Best Artisan awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid.
