Levon Vardanyan

Levon Vardanyan was born in the Armenian capital of Yerevan in 1973. He grew up in this rich country of 6,000 years of history, one of the cradles of Indo-European culture and Christianity, on the border between Europe and Europe. 'Asia. He has a childhood marked by life in a Soviet republic.

Classically trained, Levon becomes a mathematician, painting being experienced as a passion. It is just major at the time of the fall of communism and sees then settle down liberalism, democracy and their pitfalls.

After his studies, Levon became a professor of Mathematics and taught about fifteen years before deciding to immigrate to France, another land of culture. He then moved closer to the Armenian diaspora and took part in exhibitions in this way.

In 2017, he exhibits his work at the Grand Palais as part of the Art Capital exhibition.

The living, the organic mixes with the almost mechanical organization of the canvas. Human figures come to be intrigued to the elementary forms in a subtle game of overlays and transparencies.
