Mathilde Caylou is a French artist born in 1985. Today she lives and works in Alsace in France. She graduated from the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg.
Mathilde Caylou is a glass artist: she creates unique pieces mainly made of glass, worked with different techniques: glass paste, glass blowing, polishing, or even moulding. This young artist is in between contemporary art and artisanal practice. At the heart of her work, of which emerges lightness and poetry, lies man's relationship with landscape, ground and agriculture.
Mathilde Caylou's artworks have been exhibited at the Arts Décoratifs Museum of Paris in 2016, at the Grand Palais in 2015, at the international glass Biennial in Strasbourg in 2015, at the glass Biennial in Colombes in 2013, or even at the Biennale of Young Creation in 2012.
She has also received an award from the Banque Populaire foundation in 2013 and was twice the finalist of the «Talents d’eau» prize of the François Schneider foundation, Wattwiller in 2015 and 2016, among other rewards.
