Odile Escolier

Born in 1960 and originally from Nancy, Odile Escolier has lived in Savoie for over thirty years. Painting has always been part of his environment, having jointly followed a scientific course for several years. Then the painting took its place naturally, until a total professional commitment, through the paper support and the canvas.

"The shapes and lines spontaneously emerging from the faded plaster of old walls, the crevices, the cracks in the bark and the rocks, naturally feed my imagination".

All these impressions are revealed through the mixture of acrylic techniques, inks, pigments and different materials such as cement, volcanic sand, ash, materials diverted and experimented on the canvas.

Characters, landscapes, and sometimes abstract atmospheres find their anchorage in textured supports in shades of monochrome

On the medium, stories of encounters are told, beyond one's own will, the human experience in its link to the other and to oneself, of the vaster link to life, to nature through trees. , something of an interior space

Poetic writing will enrich this journey with the creation of artists' books and notebooks.

Exhibited for more than 20 years in France and abroad in galleries (Chambéry, Giverny, Grenoble, Lyon, Paris, Saint Paul de Vence, Strasbourg, Toulouse. Belgium, Canada, United States, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands , Russia,) but also in museums (Rostov on the Don, Moscow) and cultural centers.
