Matthieu Venot

Matthieu Venot is a rising star in the French photographic world, taking playful and stylish images of his hometown of Brest. Matthieu's work is notable by his use of bright sky - almost like a backdrop in a studio. He only shoots on bright, clear days to enhance the colour in his work and to draw the eye's focus onto the simple and graphic composition.

"To me the key is curiosity. It’s like I play a game when I go out shooting. To take better photographs I practice a lot and the more I take pictures, the more I learn about the composition, the light and colours. I believe that the experience gained from my work makes me avoid repetitiveness."
