Bérengère Leydier

France

Biography
Bérengère Leydier is a French artist with several talents. Initially, after having studied management and law, she joined Institut d'études techniques et historiques des objets d'Art in Lyon. For a while, she worked for Maison Templier, this allowed her to specialize in ancient jewelery. She obtained her gemologist diploma at ING Paris. She then moved to South of France, where she still lives and works. In 2007, she obtained the title of sculptor and wood gilder at Ecole Supérieure d’Ébénisterie in Avignon. She then learned the profession of frame maker. In 2012, Bérengère Leydier decided to work for herself and opened her own frame-making, sculpting and wood gilding studio. This is when she developed a passion for photography. Bérengère Leydier works on abstraction, shapes and materials. Color holds an important role in her work and her bright pigments attract the spectator's look. In 2015, she decides to put a stop to her activity of frame-maker, sculptor and wood gilder and devote herself to photography. She takes pictures of elements pertaining to the urban world, but also works on posters that she tears and modifies. Her goal is to get right to the point, erase the borders between the real and the imaginary. In 2013, she had organized a personal exhibition at the Abpi foundation in Lausanne, who opened the doors of two foundations and several art collections in Switzerland.
