Dimitri Buiron

Dimitri Buiron, born in Caen in 1990, lives and works in Angers, near Nantes. Passionate about drawing from a young age, he experimented with different techniques on multiple media, from graffiti to painting, developing his own style over the years. In 2013, with a hyperrealist painter from Caen, he introduced him to oil painting and was the revelation. A devouring passion will be born from this meeting. His creative process arises spontaneously from a sound, an image or an atmosphere. A scene then appears in his mind, extremely precise and constructed. He then develops sketches from long photographic sessions where he tries to recreate the imagined scenes. So, he searches for the poses, the atmospheres that he will later put on canvas. His obsession then consists in transcribing his imagination as faithfully as possible. His need for exactitude and heightened precision gradually directs him towards works that are both realistic and unreal. In addition to precision, the viewer's immersion in his world is his primary ambition. He focuses on all forms of details such as the composition of the scenes, the play of light by creating a cinematographic aspect to his works. The subtle play of contrast between blur and sharpness is an integral part of his work, he creates a relief which also accentuates the feeling of submersion. By merging dreamlike images and realistic effects, Dimitri Buiron illustrates the emergence of his imagination in a fantasized reality. Materialized by works with strong imagery, where satire and dark humor sometimes intersect, Dimitri reveals himself thanks to a very personal universe. Imbued with poetry and omnipresent mystery, his work suggests many interpretations and plays with our sensibilities. It is an art of its time, resolutely modern.
