Presentation

Daniel Livartowski is a French artist, born in 1944. Lithuanian origin, son of an upholsterer, he began painting at the age of 30.

A fan of jazz, Desproges and American crime fiction, he likes to add a little humor in his work. The beginning of his artistic production was considered to be aggressive and colorful, depicting brief humanity and portraying characters who have a true desire to look at their best, squeezed in a suit and tie, with a heightened libido.

Influenced by Francis Bacon's painting, his canvases have a black background, and play with the materials, so that one can connect with the image. Gradually, through his artistic research, his painting has become much more clearer and his universe is closer to the one of Raymond Queneau, rather than Céline, who he admires.

His work has been exhibited during several personal and collective exhibitions, in France and Belgium.
