Anne Lacouture

Anne Lacouture is a graduate of the Strasbourg School of Applied Arts. She was born in the Reunion Island in 1980 and she has been discovered at the 1er Regard Gallery. Anne Lacouture plays with distances while drawing with her ballpoint pens. The paper is scratched and sometimes perforated. The creatures she draws are leaving, or have just arrived, and they don?t care about the viewer. Do they pose for a picture, standing by that wall? Is it their thoughts, or their dreams that troubles their image, as if they were wrapped in cigarette smoke? In the twirls of her drawings, the details organize themselves and disappear in an instant, and we only catch glimpses of their shapes.
