Christophe Girard

Christophe Girard is a cartoonist.

In 1992, graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Lyon. Since 1997, professor at the plastic arts school of Nice: La Villa Thiole.

He only came to comics in 2005 after an experience as an artist-visual artist. Working alone or in collaboration with screenwriters, he has endeavored to draw stories anchored in reality. His historical or fictional characters are always at a crossroads, ready to challenge fate. This artist has published a number of Bd books (more than 17) bearing an ironic look at the history of art, or more seriously on the war in Africa.

He said of himself: "I became a professor. (...). And finally, I became an effective revolutionary. In front of me, free and living brains for a secular, democratic and cultivated republic! My thirst for knowledge and reflection are my weapons (...). A pencil can change what a bomb can stigmatize. I was born in May 68 which halos me with a revolutionary halo in spite of myself. "

The artist has published a number of comic books bearing an ironic look at the history of art, or more seriously on the war in Africa.

He has released more than 15 albums. He also worked on the costumes for a rock opera, Sakurajima, by Boris Bergman. Special mention for the Ecumenical Prize of the Angoulême Festival, 2012.
