Presentation

Valérie Gho was born in Marseille. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Marseille-Luminy, she exhibited in Provence, Paris, Cairo and Italy. His pictorial work testifies to a deep quest for authenticity and beauty. He frees himself from the aesthetic limits of an era to touch the spirituality of Being. Proceeding less from a testimony of his time than from participation in the world, his works convey his sensitivity and strength. It is through the edification of her being, in her exposure and the gift of oneself, that Valérie Gho builds her pictorial vocabulary and transmits to us this nourishing energy drawn from the deepest. Her paintings, which she calls “Mirrored Tables”, tell a thousand and one stories. So many tales, dreams and inner worlds unfolding. So many colors and emotions that vibrate as if sheltered by this soft transparent material, this almost organic substance with which Valérie Gho covers each of her paintings, like a second skin, a protective and revealing screen against the outside world. A bubble that makes the invisible visible. From 2018 Valérie Gho is interested in the technique of cyanotypes. Developed in 1842 by the English scientist and astronomer John Frederick William Herschel, the cyanotype is an old monochrome negative photographic process, which produces a unique Prussian blue print. From 1843, Anna Atkins, British botanist, used it for the illustration of printed works: herbaria. Counterpoint of Mirrored Tables (2005/2013) to heavy materials, relentless techniques and abundance of colors, Valérie Gho now plays with the lightness of the material, the complicity of nature. Water, sun, paper and “king” plants are its partners. Together they create aerial works, photograms in unique blue. These footprints, sometimes enhanced with gold, evoke the fluidity of the waters, the breath of the wind in the grass, the deep blue of summer nights. 2012 Patrick Bartoli Gallery Marseille Artiane Honfleur Gallery Maison Dauphine Gallery Aix en Provence Lille Art Fair Lille Salon Smart Aix en Provence Salon SIAC Marseille 2011 Gallery Geneviève Marty Cannes Greetings from Artists Marseille Galerie Maison Dauphine Aix en Provence Chateau Paradis Aix en Provence Salon SIAC Marseille 2010 Gallery La Maison Du Béal Pont de l'Etoile Greetings from Artists Marseille Haiti Actions Artists Paris Cinema Lumière Projection-Debate Louise Bourgeois La Ciotat ARTNIM Nîmes Fair SM'ART Aix en Provence 2009 Gallery of the Temple Lourmarin Mac Arteum Châteauneuf-le -Rouge Chapelle Saint Sulpice Istres Espace Villeneuve Bargemon Marseille Chapelle des Pénitents Bleus La Ciotat 2008 Galerie Du Parc Al-Ahzar Cairo - Egypt Salon Archi'Vision Marseille Gala Association Rêves Aix en Provence Primo Piano Living Gallery Lecce - Italy The Ojai Retreat Ojai - USA 2007 Sextius Gallery Aix en Provence Amana Gallery Aix en Provence Alter Ego Gallery Aix en Proven ce Galerie Delphine Carincotte Marseille 2006 Ligne Roset Plan de Campagne 8th Salon of Painters and Sculptors (SIAC) Marseille.
