Johanne Joe, painter, without artistic training, a body and a brain.
Born in 1968, Johanne Joe has always said that painting is her universe. Over time, the painting responds positively. She has been painting on canvas since May 1998, working first with brushes and oil; from years to years, get acquainted with the art world. She ended up "authorizing herself" at an artist's workshop in November 2008 and became free as to the choice of materials, tools, paintings, subjects and themes.
Today, Johanne Joe lives in Saint-Étienne, passionate about life and human bonds, she works in turn, her four main series since 2009 for more. "The important thing," she says, "is not to become fixed in a genre, it will only slow down my creativity and distance me from what I am, I am multiple, I always demand from myself several reflections and many horizons ". All the more, whatever the work, the part of chance is essential; she has learned to accept it because many events are needed in the creation.
The technique is acquired with the wire of time (the life) but it is not what happens in the errors and the attempts of doubtful and improbable that the incredible arises. "When I'm baking, I'm in a state of extraordinary curiosity! A blank canvas is an appointment with freedom! "
