Florence Grundeler is a French artist, born in Paris in 1968.
She spent her childhood between the outskirts of Paris and the Vexin Region, which gave her the opportunity to appreciate urban beauty as well as creating an special connection with nature. She studied Chinese at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations, Which influenced her to travel to China, this trip was a source of inspiration for the artist.
After this trip, she developed little by little her own pictorial style, particularly marked by the watercolor technique, which was widely used in the ancient Chinese culture. Later on, she decided to keep on travelling so she settled in Brazil for a while, where she discovered the very different culture. She met there several engravers and visual artists who showed her their techniques. She then decided to travel more and went to Moscow and Buenos Aires, always seeking for new ways of expression and new materials.
Since 2009, Florence Grundeler lives and works in Gard, where she finally encounter again nature and light, after being separated from it since she left Vexin.
