Solange Jungers

Doctor of Art History, born in 1974. Solange Jungers' work oscillates between literature and visual arts to explore the narrative aspect of figurative art. Element of predilection in her work, family photos, personal or found in garage sales, without ever identifying them, from which she invents stories, poetic, often dramatic. Her bobbin lace mends the torn photos. The photographs that Solange collects are generally those which had not been pasted in the albums, they are the bad prints, the veiled photos, the awkward framing… towards which SJ develops a very particular tenderness. This aesthetic of the imperfect which would say more than those of the photos officially registered in the family novel. The film roll recorded the moment just before and just after. We could not erase it, we were just able to put it aside, in the box of forgotten moments. She has participated in several personal and group exhibitions internationally.
