Nascio

Slim, better known as Nascio or Nassyo is a French artist born in 1974 who lives and works in Paris.

Influenced by comics, cinema, music and science fiction, Nascio expresses himself through graffiti, painting and illustration. He started in the 90s doing his pieces in large formats in urban areas, working besides renowned graffitti artists such as KDS, KCA, BAK, DKA and TW. At the beginning he worked withouth taken any sort of classes, but he applied his own rigor and methodology.

Later on, he took drawing, painting, nude sketches and modeling classes, and studied graphic design as well. Exuberant, in the shape and in the chromatic palette that he uses, Nacio's pictorial work is sometimes even qualified of hallucinatoy. The way he applies color is explosive and original, frank and primary, acidulated and pop. His paintings are impregnated of great dynamism and spontaneity, he does not use any preparatory drawing and lets his work take shape without setting any limits.

The subject of the tree plays a main role in his artistic research since 2004. He combines organic shapes, between geometry and abstraction and lettering is sometimes included.

He obtained the first SAIMA prize for the Arabic Contemporary creation of "Amis de l'Institut du Monde Arabe" in January 2016 and his work was part of the exhibition Jardins Orientaux the same year.
