Floe

A graphic designer by training, Floe has always given an essential place to drawing. She develops aesthetic work by seeking graphic perfection. She deconstructs what academic teaching has taught her, combining a sense of detail and spontaneity of the first stroke.

In her photographic performance "Kill the Prince Charming", Floe stages herself and questions traditional fairy tales. When this Cinderella drops her crowned frog, it's not a muscular Ken with white teeth that appears, but an amphibian in a thousand pieces. With Floe the tone is set, her universe is closer to Tex Avery's pin-ups than to the sleeping Aurora.

The artist offers us to see these powerful, generous, multi-faceted pépets, both fragile and strong, unsightly and sexy, fierce and provocative, cheerful and tortured ... We often see them in too narrow spaces, at image of today's women, alternately mother, sister, businesswoman, femme fatale, or simply everyone, but always heroic and trying to adapt to their environment.

It is in Paris that Floe meets graffiti artists who lead her to take her first steps in the street. Installed in Reunion since 2011, she multiplies artistic encounters. We find her in particular alongside Niark1 live at Kabardock with his dog-headed wife. In the collective exhibition at La Galerüe, we discover on the walls of an apartment, a masked bimbo with a severed foot, a young lady with three breasts or even a girl dripping between two windows. And in this restaurant, there is this curious chick who delights in every word of the customers.

Recently, several festivals have called on her to create their posters, Danse Pei, where Floe also creates a fresco in the image of the Perrier brand, by offering a good woman as round as their famous bottle. In 2017, La Bèl Parol also put up a colorful poster where two girls are in the middle of a battle. This year Floe will perform two lives, one on the Manapany Festival, the other on the Sakifo, and two containers will be presented to the public. The Fischer brand also called on the artist to carry out its campaign on the tropical theme with the constraint not to include a character, Floe then diverted the instructions and hides a good woman in the foliage of the 4X3.

Floe also continues to produce outdoor frescoes. In 2017, during the Porlwi Festival in Mauritius, the artist was invited by the FRAC Réunion alongside international artists. She lays there a substantial fresco, a donzelle with an umbrella. In the Port districts, Floe paints alongside Jace and Seth during the highlight of "Ville Musée" street art.

Since the beginning of 2019 (and until June), the artist has participated in the collective exhibition "Partage" at the Stella Matu tina Museum around graphics. She is also in residence at Rencontres Alternatives where she tests vegetable inks. Floe questions different spaces, moving from the inside to the outside, by changing the supports ... Always looking for new experiences!
