Born in 1977, Noé Roussel spent his childhood around painters. Due to this contact with the artistic world, he decided to study fine arts and restoration. Thanks to this multidisciplinary teaching, Noé Roussel got the chance to experiment with several mediums.

Before creating his own work, he worked for a while on painting restoration campaigns. Noé Roussel found his inspiration in hyper-realism American shapes. Therefore, he decided to open his own workshop with Alexandra Battezzatti.

Noé Roussel's painted portraits are often inspired by old, unknown or famous faces, the most recurrent example being the Mexican painter: Frida Kahlo. Noé Roussel plays around with places, cultures and eras: he develops a true alternative to highlight man's universality.

Recently, Noé Roussel has started using various types of materials, he often combines old silver photos or digital pictures. The artist isn't exclusive about his approach or technique, he resorts to: projections, sprays, wash-drawing, knives, brushes, sprays...
