Presentation
Considering the current state of the world, is it not time to put our way of thinking flat and put people back at the heart of our societies? I am convinced that we are brothers in humanity, that our differences are our strength and our wealth; we feel the same emotions ...
Visual art, like music, is an immediate and universal language. It transcends divisions, borders, dissimilarities and touches the human soul.
Having trained in textile art, it is quite naturally through textile patterns that I express this notion of tolerance, of coming together or even of communion between men symbolized in their cultural diversity.
I am also interested in the imprint of man. Decorative arts as a source of inspiration come from the past and the present. Like an archaeologist, I dig into the past of different civilizations to extract symbolic elements, then I connect them to the present, assemble them, reinterpret and recompose them, a bit like a mosaic ... The colors specific to each country permeate my paintings. .
Fascinated by Arab-Muslim art, the arabesque is found in many of my paintings. Its repetition and its rhythm encourage contemplation and spirituality. Acrylic on canvas is a medium that can be compared with pigment printing on fabric. This is what best reflects the relationship I have with my art. I carefully study my color harmonies before starting a painting.
Through my works, which are inspired by different cultures, I would like to bring out what brings us together rather than what divides us. Cultures are permeable and their diversity enriches them more than it impoverishes them. My paintings are an invitation to introspection, to meditation and call to open your heart to emotions to let our humanity shine forth, this light which is in each of us.
