Gil Blache

Gil
Blache was born in Paris in 1953. At present, he lives either near Lyon or in
Saigon. During his childhood and teenage years, he took his first art
photographs and he shot his first short films which prefigured his later work.
Whilst remaining close to the artistic world, he decided to resume his creation
in 1999 after a break of nearly 15 years. Since then, as an observer of his
time, he has shared his thoughts and feelings mainly
through photography, through different series taken in both urban
landscapes and in nature. Whatever the aesthetic approach, even though the
themes treated may seem very different, the interpretation of the latter
quickly shows they all translate the constant questioning of the artist,
concerning the human being in his environment, appearances, confinement, dreams
and escape… faced by the indifference of passing time.
