Evelyne Crozat Coulmont is a French artist born in 1966. She lives and works in Ardèche. A chemist by training, after having worked in a research laboratory for the automotive industry, she has researched in the practice of painting ancestral practices linking naturalness and authenticity, material and technicality.

If it is an essential characteristic of the artist's work, it is the singularity and the power of the pictorial material that she uses in each of her creations: a natural coating based on this aerial lime (Stucco) which 'she applies on wooden supports.

A materiality exacerbated by the optical properties of the works thus produced. Works whose reflection of light as well as its variety (depending on the color and condition of the worked surface), give a feeling of openness and expansion modulating and structuring the space according to the angle of observation.

His approach to painting is free and intuitive. Each creation is a new adventure, a new sensitive experience where, freed from the rigor of a figurative representation, the artist lets himself be guided by color and its sensory dimensions, the strength of the material and the pleasure of his work.

The composition is developed slowly, without any constraints or pre-established project, shaped by the internal relationships that are forged between colors, contrasts and shapes, signs and imprints.It explores both the visible and invisible worlds of our perceptual capacities, traces of life, traces of feelings ...

She improvises, sculpts the material by moving towards all the possible, in a permanent dialogue according to the gesture and her immediate intuition, until obtaining the ultimate point of balance.
