In 1976, he made his first road trip in the United States, where he witnessed the explosion of Pop Art and of hyperrealism. On his return, Jean Pierre Roux published a book about his American journey.

He entered the world of fashion and advertising and accompanied Johnny Thunders in one of his tours in order to make a documentary.
Already close to the world of cinema, he directed his first short film in 1980, which was selected during the Chamrousse Festival. He started then a career as a director of advertisements and worked on several projects including the Water Ballet of Evian Babies.
He has received several awards including the six Lions at the International Advertising Film Festival of Cannes, 2 "Stategie et Minerves" awards. He started realizing feature films with the help of Dennis Hopper for the film "The Target".

In the last years, he returned to his passion for photography and decided to share some unpublished photographs of his rock and roll years.
