Presentation
Born in 1953, this self-taught artist stands out for his diversified art. Poster artist, sculptor, lava stone and earthenware ceramist, decorator, illustrator, performer and installer. Sid'Ali is an outside artist, wanderer, a world citizen.
In the 80's, the artist joined the "Art Cloche" group and moved to Paris, influenced by raw and unique art, before joining Cobra group in 1989. The walls of Paris were his first medium in the 90's. He painted portraits, especially "Zohra la magnifique", his mother's portrait that he displayed as a symbol against the terror years in 95 and 96 in Algeria.
These ephemeral portraits were acknowledged by several galleries, like the Galerie Arthur in 91 and Galerie W in 97. At the time, Sid'Ali used newspaper as his medium regularly for his pieces, because it contained a strong social footprint.
In 2002, after his participation in the "La danse du guerrier" documentary, in which he was the central theme, he set up his workshop in Sisteron, in the Alps, where he has been living ever since.
