Lou Lemoine

France

Biography
Lou Lemoine is a visual artist who lives in Reims. She knew since an early age that later on she will become an artist and that she will work in the world of art. Instinctively passionate about creation, Lou uses art since an early age to express her emotions in other ways than with speech. Painting, sculpture, pottery.. all these means are good options to trancribe her emotions. At the age of 17, she imparted a few sculpture classes, but it was hard to make herself a way in a world of men. After studying commerce, she decided to re-orient her career, in order to devote herself to her passion. She became a sculpture teacher and taught for more than 20 years in schools, art centers, prisons, associations and hospitals. Lou Lemoine believes that art belongs to everybody. Far from being elitist, she thinks culture has to allow everybody other ways of expression besides speech. In this way, she became a sort of saver for people with Alzeimers and with other disabilities, whom she tries to introduce to art. Lou Lemoine has done several trips to Cuba, Spain, Berlin and Africa... her pieces and her style have been greatly influenced by the different cultures and techniques that she discovered during her trips. In parellel to her work as a visual arts teacher, Lou Lemoine continued her work on Soul Flowers, these souls that symbolize strenght, love and peace. In a world where the interactions between individuals constantly deteriorate, these souls try to heal the heart of men. Lou's work emanate poetry and tenderness, joy of life and happiness to create. Her creations have been exhibited numerous times in France.
