Presentation

The work of Christophe Rouleaud has always something to do with the human condition. Apparently obvious subject for who wants to think a little about the meaning of our existence. But a very delicate theme to put into artistic form to touch and move and at the same time provoke in the "viewer" thought in what it can have most essential, more philosophical.

So it is not surprising, with such concerns - in which aesthetics obviously has its place but only its proper place - to find in its workshop a whole humanity on its way towards its "impossible stars": Don Quixote, in the pursuit of his dreams (to the point of leaving on the way the brave Sancho, however, so indispensable to the dialectic of the novel), Icarus trying desperately and very little wisely to free himself from the gloom from here to be dazzled by too great and mortal freedom. But also hands stretched to the sky to try to catch happiness or at least some hope.
