Presentation

My work as a visual artist is characterized by a critical look at the materiality of the plastic media, the production process of the work, and its visibility conditions. This supposes to be ready in the face of surprise ready to arise, to create surprise thanks to the transforming power of the act of painting, to sharpen my own sensitivity.

Attentive to the major questions of our time, among which the relation of man to nature and to the living touches me to the highest point.

In the course of my research, I realized that my creative approach consists in setting in dialogue some fundamental notions, which crossed the history of the Western painting such as the relation between the color and the black and white, the figuration and abstraction, the rendering of light by color and matter, the dialogue between transparencies and opacities, fluidities and geometries, between graphics and colored forms in flat areas.

Since 2015, the cycle entitled Double reading literally invests the pictorial surface by disturbing the notion of uniqueness of the painting. One is two, the same is another. Moving from one state to another depends on the presence or absence of light as the revealer of the painting.

This quality is materialized thanks to the discovery of the phosphorescent pigment which has the property of reacting to the degrees of ambient luminosity and of visually organizing itself in two different plastic universes, succeeding one another.

My pictorial research focuses today on the different possibilities of this new medium in declination with the exploration of other materials and techniques.

The presentation of my work must be thought of more as an installation than as an exhibition of paintings.

The possibility of creating a light installation in a museum would allow me to complete my approach and to present my work in optimal conditions to its visibility.
