Pierre Sendrané

Pierre Sendrané was born in Auch (32) in 1981.

He discovered painting very early on through art books and travel. At 17, he began to paint and had a revelation for Paul Cézanne. A few years later, in 2000, he entered the Beaux-Arts in Toulouse. After exploring video and sound, graduated from the DNAP des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse in 2004. He then moved to Paris, where he began a career as a musician as a studio and stage drummer for various groups. Since 2006, he has been producing music for images for the music production agency Midnight, of which he is one of the founders.

Today, Pierre Sendrané lives and works in the Gers and has resumed painting.

In this series of large and medium-sized canvases, Pierre Sendrané returns to the purest essence of painting, the portrait. It challenges our individuality: we observe, we identify. Each spectator creates their experience of the exhibition with their own vision of the world.

With references to 20th century painting, a raw and intuitive approach, this series of canvases is linked to the subject of the figure in all its forms. From one to the other, Pierre Sendrané did not seek to establish a stylistic connection. As for the meaning, nothing is concealed. Everything is said straight away to the viewer.

Today, his productions are evolving towards a more primitive painting of animal figures. He is already planning to create, on larger formats, less figurative pictorial compositions.
