Alex Verdenne

Born in 1975 in Dijon, Alex Verdenne developed a passion for drawing very early on, at the age of 16 he enrolled in evening classes at the Beaux-Arts in Dijon and at 17 he studied applied arts in Lyon for 3 years. Alex began to paint and was inspired by the paintings of P.Picasso, R.Combas or even B. Buffet.

At 24, he left his native Burgundy with the sole motivation to become a painter and make a living from his art.

He put down his suitcases in Périgord in 1999 where he opened his workshop to the public and sold his first paintings. During 11 years Alex connects exhibitions and artistic competitions with success and distinctions. He also experimented with many techniques such as engraving, pastel, oil and acrylic paints, spray or even screen printing ...

However, at the age of 35, chaos settled in his life, he organized a barbecue opening in his studio and publicly burned all his paintings and drawings. 7 years will pass without him touching a brush.

Today, Alex Verdenne shouts again his colors and his features, he thirsts for production and creation, his work is passionate, he creates shapes and characters drunk with color with festive atmospheres. His sets are built to the limit of imbalance, his portraits are unstructured in the manner of the cubists and evolve in forms surrounded by opaque black lines.
