Presentation

The visual has been with me since my earliest childhood.

Originally, the human and nothing but the human. A character drawn then modeled, photo portraits, videos of duets; everything revolves around the body, its expressions. At the same time, the professional leads me to work in town planning and to question landscapes more and more. However, I stumble on the representation of spaces. The trigger will come from a trip, thanks to train tickets preserved because of their picturesque foreign calligraphy. By cutting them out and rearranging them, I discover that I can recompose the landscapes I visited.

No need for an exact, realistic representation to transcribe, I can schematize! Freed from The representation, I start to explore the lines, the features and the indentations, the shadows and their light, to go towards what the eye perceives and not what it sees that, always by associating materials recovered here and there; "My train tickets to me". These are then reworked and established in a composition in which I insert my houses or boats or characters. It is then necessary to fix the assembly using glue and / or seam which can be discreet or an integral part of the painting.

Lately, painting is inviting itself more and more often in my work but the approach remains the same: to schematize and integrate external elements to create, at dawn (I work very early in the morning) urban or zen scenes. A few years later, I regularly ask myself the question: what was I doing before?
