Born in 1950, Franco Joly lives and works mainly in France.
After studying architecture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Clermont (1977-1981), he turned to a career in design.
He began by working as a freelance before collaborating with several European firms such as Le Cristal Daum of Nancy France, Les Emaux de Longwy France, the Villeroy & Boch Luxemburg, the Koziol Gmbh Germany… etc. for which he creates series of objects in the field of glass, ceramics or even plastic ...
At the same time, he creates many pieces of furniture edited in small numbers for an elitist clientele. His works are regularly sold at public auction.
He began to work as an amateur in photography around 1993 and then professionally from the 2000s. He exhibited at the Arkos Gallery in 2003 and also in 2006.
He uses his computer mouse like a brush to digitally modify his photographs with the aim of creating his own universe beyond mere reality.
And the result is sometimes surprising ...
