Eric Alvarez

Eric Alvarez, his artist name Kossa , does not create by chance.

Born in 1964, he set foot there very early on thanks to a blacksmith father, in the heart of the village of Saleilles in the Pyrénées Orientales.

The hard way, he learns on these sides, to twist and shape iron.

His CAP in hand, he freed himself very early from an art too classic for these ideas. As life experiences unfold, atypical mirrors, curvaceous frames, entwined sculptures, contemporary and design furniture are born.

These preferred materials are aluminum, stainless steel and iron.

Then, in search of new perspectives, he combines wood, glass, color and always light; striking contrast between heavy and cold materials, transparency and lightness. These compositions are original and often unique.

The shapes and volumes are refined, imbued with sobriety, mixing effects of fluidity and elegance.

His creations are the fruit of his sense of observation, of his great sensitivity, but always they seek the meeting, the reaction, the interest and the pleasure to share.

This feeling is also expressed in the collaborations that he participates in a magnifying glass with other painters, visual artists, photographer ...

His works have found an audience at various events near Perpignan and its surroundings.
