Jacqueline Jouanneau

Born in Brittany in 1948, Jacqueline Jouanneau lives a simple working life crossed by different jobs. At the age of 42, overtaken by ill-being, she decides to stop all social activity and undertakes analytical work that will last seven years. Painting will enter her life at the end of the first year of this work, she has been accompanying her ever since, and she has participated in the reconstruction of her being.

Since then she has explored different themes that she abandons as soon as she has the feeling of fabricating, of no longer surprising, and she waits for another theme to arrive and choose her. That of African art is neither ethnographic nor cultural, it came to it through the gaze and the desire for a personal challenge: to interpret in acrylic the sculpture on the canvas and the wall, to represent wood, stone , shadows and lights.

This self-taught artist has made many exhibitions: Paris, Domont, winter garden of the Open Theater of Lucien Attoun, Pont-Scorff, Nantes, Lorient, Port-Louis, Riantec, to mention only her personal exhibitions.
