Alain Josseau

Alain Josseau was born in Nantes in 1968. Graduating from the Beaux-Arts in Nantes in 1992, he enrolls in 1993 into a new technology DESS degree. In 1994, he becomes a scholarship artist at the Institut des Hautes Études en Arts Plastiques in Paris. He has been living and workin in Toulouse since 1994; he works as an artist, a teacher and an exhibition technician.

Passionate about new technologies, Alain Josseau directs his work quite early in his career towards the media images and, more widely, towards the status of the image. His paintings, drawings, videos and installations evoke important historical events: the World Trade Center attack, the assassination of JFK, the Irak war... The images he uses come from the media, cinema, video games, the Internet or from Art History.
