Sylvain Subervie

Sylvain Subervie, sculptor, self-taught, born in 1950, began his professional career in 1970 in the fashion sector. Renowned for his know-how as a “brand launcher”, he posted some great successes until 1994 when, tired of fashion, he decided to build his own collection at the antipodes of it. He exploited the elements in an unprecedented way. natural by bringing them together in the same piece of furniture or object.

A conceptual research turned towards timelessness. Versatile, he designs and manages his own manufacturing workshop.

These 25 years allow him to “visit” decorative art through his wrought iron and crystal de Roche creations. He was also represented at Art Basel in Miami “The international Art Show” in 2011 during an auction, and since 2006 by the famous Galerie Marcilhac in Paris where his name and his works have rubbed shoulders with the greatest in the field, among which, Printz, Prouve, or even Leleu. He "tries" the sculpture ... to arrive at the "additionality" by imagining monumental works of art. The first was the “Girafe”, then the “Banc de Poissons” acquired by the city of Cagnes in 2008, “the Army of Warriors Shields, at war against the war.” He definitively signs his works by creating “the form by the void".

Who is he ?

Nothing could have destined him to be an “Artist”, moreover he does not like being called that.
