Didier Fontan

After graduating from IDHEC (Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques, now FEMIS) directing and shooting section, Didier Fontan shares his professional activities between directing short films, institutional and advertising films, recording of shows for television and illustration photography. He has already made five award-winning short films in France and abroad, a TV movie for M6 and two music videos. His passion for the theater led him to teach for twelve years at the Jean Périmony School of Dramatic Art and to work with the comedians of the Comédie Française who regularly play in its film productions.

In parallel with his activities as a producer and director, he has realized as a photographer several exhibitions in London, Paris and Mauritius, on the occasion of the proclamation of the Republic with the Cibachrome workshop of Roland Dufau . In 2003 he participated in the Nuit Blanche organized by the City of Paris with Patrick Ecoutin (town planner) and Pascal Cribier (landscaper) by presenting offbeat panoramas of the districts of Paris projected on the facade of the Pavillon de l'Arsenal. For more than thirty years he has been producing long-term reports on Parisian subjects such as the Paris Metro, Père Lachaise, the Little Belt, the Jardins du Périphérique, Paris-Plage or the Canal St Martin.

In 2013, he produced an architectural photography book “The Twelve Works of Hercules” on the occasion of his ten years of collaboration with the real estate company Capital & Continental. Ambassador of the Permajet paper brands and X-Rite calibration probes, Didier works in digital printing for medium and large format photographers in close collaboration with Canon's printing department, an activity he has developed within his production company Les Films des Trois Universes, by opening an art prints workshop in Pantin on digital printers.
